Hi,

Does anyone know anything about the limitations on texture-maps?

I'm using newcity.wad, and when my texture-map was still a mere 512 x 1538 pixels, everything worked fine.

I've now increased it's size to 512 x 1792 pixels, and everything goes well up until the point where I try to convert the level to a .tr4 file. At this point I get the 'program generated errors and is shut down; an error log will be generated' message.

I'm using Win2000 pro...

Any suggestions?

Best regards,
Striffelbuur.

I think the limit to the amount of textures you can have is 160 tiles.

The file size you made would be for 224 tiles. That could be the reason you're crashing.

if you're texture map is 256 pixels wide (4 tiles) you can have 64 rows of 4 tiles downwards. Any more and wierd stuff starts to happen.

I initially made up a texture file using all 256 slots for the tiles and found that the level editor didn't like it at times if I tried to right-click on a texture on the map to select it and bombed out. I've subsequently cut the number of tiles down to 196 and everything's working fine.
